Police identify bicyclist killed in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, N.M. — Santa Fe police identified a bicyclist who died in a crash in the heart of the city Wednesday night.

A person hit 42-year-old Steven Ballinger, of Cañoncito, with their car at the intersection of Cerrillos Road and St. Michael’s Drive. Paramedics took him to the hospital but he died.

The driver stayed on the scene. Police are still investigating.
